The Road to Warm Minimalism

I'm Lamont Weaver, the owner of Scandi & Japandi, and my personal journey to Scandi & Japandi began in the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico. For years, I was surrounded by the beautiful, sun-baked aesthetic of the Southwest—a style often characterized by its minimalist principles: thick adobe walls, exposed wood beams, and an intentional use of space and natural materials. This environment taught me to value simplicity, but it also instilled a craving for warmth and texture over the cold, sterile minimalism often seen in modern design. This search for cozy, intentional simplicity—a style that feels grounded, earthy, and welcoming—ultimately led me to the concept of Japandi. It was the perfect blend of the refined, natural simplicity I cherished, paired with the deep, enveloping comfort of Scandinavian hygge. This shop is the result of that journey: a curated collection designed to bring that same tranquil, warm minimalism into your own home.
